iSimangaliso Wetland park have been working tirelessly alongside the people within their community to heal the park and it’s people by addressing the many layers within the area. The complexities of Apartheid, forced land removals, peoples livelihood and nature, created a platform for needed change. UNESCO approached Makhulu to document the story of iSimangaliso Wetland Park and capture the intricacies of how this exquisite reserve became a World Heritage site. As a fellow camera operator, it was an absolute privilege to shoot with Makhulu and be able to be apart of telling iSimangaliso Wetland Park’s story.
