Greenpop work to restore ecosystems and empower environmental stewards through reforestation, urban greening, sustainable development, and environmental art projects across Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2013, a group of volunteers came together to plant over 3000 trees while learning and sharing with the local community. As the client, Greenpop who were in partnership with Makhulu, needed their Festival of Action captured and communicated through video. While with Makuhlu, I had the honour to shoot and edit this piece, which communicates the beauty of Zambia, the challenges they face with deforestation on the rise and the solution that Greenpop has activated in order to solve that. Spending 6 weeks filming in Zambia had a major effect on not only my life, but many people from around the world. A truly moving experience.
