To this day, I still consider Morocco to be one of the best countries I have visited.
In 2017 I was invited on a surf and travel trip through Morocco. I was there to document what I saw, but mostly just take in the incredible surroundings and experiences.

The first thing I noticed was how hospitable the people of Morocco are. My hosts went out of their way to make me feel at home and I was greeted with inviting smiles everywhere I went.

My journey started in Dar Bouazza, a small village 15km from Casablanca. I stayed at a friend’s lodge where I got to learn the art of cooking a delicious lamb and fresh artichoke tagine.

My next stop was Imsouane. This was the highlight of my trip. With endless waves, warm smiles and fresh seafood prepared for you straight from the ocean, the simple life was in full swing.

I was fortunate to also visit Essaouira, a town rich in Moroccan culture, with gorgeous riads, Gnawan music, tiny coffee shops and exotic pastries that blew my mind.

The markets of Marrakech were my last stop before heading home, which allowed me to immerse myself in the artisanal crafts of the country. The endless winding streets overflowed with colour, patterns, and a hypnotic buzz that I had never experienced before.

I travelled with my Panasonic GH5 and a couple of my favourite lenses while hanging out the car window as much as possible. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to see this exquisite country.
