After a week of great surf and stellar company in St Francis, I didn’t think it was going to get any better. My friend Claudia and I headed out to check the waves one last time when we caught a glimpse of something in the water.
We quickly realised it was a Humpback whale and her calf frolicking in the water. I was fortunate enough to have my drone with me and managed to capture a few beautiful images of them before they swam off. Their movements were graceful and mesmerising, which allowed me to also shoot a few seconds of video while I was at it.
We were so surprised at how close they were to the shore and couldn’t believe our luck to have spotted this gorgeous pair.
